Centennial Cocktail Reception
Centennial activities started off with an elegant Cocktail Reception at Il Tulipano on October 4th, 2007. The gala fundraiser featured music by Dave D'Addozio and Kevin Cosgrove and a slide show by Phil Jaeger who gave a preview of his lecture series for the Cedar Grove Historical Society. With a sellout crowd, the reception's success was due to the hard work of chairwomen Kerry Peterson and Fran Faieta and the untiring efforts of their committee. Thank you, everyone!

Commemorative Cedar Trees
In October, cedar trees of varying heights were planted by the WELCOME TO CEDAR GROVE signs and in front of the Municipal Building. (See Commemorative Cedar Trees post in November 2007 archives for details.)

The Cedar Grove Historical Society celebrated the town's centennial with a very popular series of slide programs on Cedar Grove's history. The programs were presented by Phil Jaeger, a Trustee of the Society.

A Photo Contest was sponsored by AcuSource Healing and Cedar Grove Family Chiropractic.
A Time Capsule Contest was sponsored by The Rotary Club.

A free Family Movie Night for Cedar Grove residents was presented
by Cinema 23.

The 1958 Time Capsule was opened in April 2008 and the contents were displayed at the Cedar Grove Library.
In October, a new Centennial Time Capsule was buried in front of the Town Hall. It will be opened in 2058.
