Many people think of Frank Dailey's Meadowbrook when they hear the name Cedar Grove. It was well known around the world. This postcard shows the Meadowbrook at the height of its popularity. World famous perfomers appeared at the Meadowbrook.
The first nationwide radio broadcast of dance music originated from the Meadowbrook. The club also was responsible for the first national telecast of dance music.
Inspired by the Cedar Grove Centennial Celebration, fourth grade students under the direction of Media Specialist Linda Leddy created web pages about some of the people who made the Meadowbrook famous. This was a library/media center research project. View their WHO'S WHO OF MEADOWBROOK PERFORMERS at http://www.cedargrove.k12.nj.us/north/meadowbrook/index.htm
More Meadowbrook pictures are also on view in the CEDAR GROVE PIX album in the left sidebar.
